We are committed to safeguarding your personal data and employ a range of legal, organizational, technical, and physical controls to ensure its confidentiality, integrity, and availability. In line with applicable data protection requirements, we have adopted measures to protect personal data against unauthorized or unlawful processing, for instance:

10. How you can manage your information security on Bitget Wallet

We provide you with the “Fingerprint/Face Unlock” option in the “Security and Privacy” portion of Bitget Wallet, allowing you to manage your digital tokens conveniently and more securely.

Please note that in the “Security” section of Bitget Wallet, you can freely conduct the following operations:

(b) You can choose to disable the “Unlock required” option, meaning, that password and biometrics won’t be required each time the Bitget Wallet is launched;

(c) You can choose to disable the biometric data option (fingerprint and face) for authentication during transactions.

If any relevant security-related information arises, we will notify you via the “Notifications” section of Bitget Wallet for your awareness and reference.

Kindly note that certain services provided by Bitget Wallet operate on blockchain technology, where no personally identifiable information (PII) is recorded. However, your actual transaction records are maintained on the blockchain, which is public and transparent — neither Bitget Wallet nor you have control over these records. Once data is recorded on the blockchain, it cannot be altered or deleted.

11. Automated Individual Decision Making

An automated decision is one made entirely by software—without direct human involvement—which may have legal or other important effects on you.

We may rely on automated decisions to confirm your identity and to detect and prevent fraud, helping maintain the security of our platform. These technologies assess various types of information, such as identification documents, photos, device and transaction details, and behavioral indicators, to verify your identity and evaluate for possible risks. By applying automated risk assessments and pattern recognition, the system can detect irregularities or potential indicators of fraudulent activity. Based on these results, automated systems may determine your eligibility to access or continue using certain services. If you are subject to such a decision, you have the right to request that a person reviews it, to express your point of view and to contest the decision.

12. Direct Marketing

Bitget Wallet may process your personal data to provide you with general and/or personalized updates about our services, request your feedback, or invite you to participate in related surveys based on legitimate interest, once you have created a wallet on our Platform or App. We may also use your language preferences, location, and wallet balance to determine which products, services, and offers may be most relevant to you when delivering customized direct marketing materials or seeking your opinions about specific services.

You can change your direct marketing notification settings at any time in the settings of your Bitget wallet, and this will not affect the provision of services to you.

13. Cookies

These files, along with similar technologies collectively referred to as cookies, allow websites and applications to retain information or access stored information to activate specific functionalities and differentiate between users. These tools are employed by most online service providers to enable efficient navigation, secure data, understand usage, store preferences, and enhance overall user experience.

14. Data Retention

When processing personal data we strictly obey to the principle for retaining personal data for no longer than is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

We typically consider the following factors when deciding how long to retain your personal data:

Legal obligation: for example, if AML/CTF laws are applicable to the data processing operation, we will retain personal data for the periods indicated in the applicable law.

Litigation and defense: for the exercise, defense or execution of legal claims we may rely on the applicable statutory limitation period in the relevant jurisdiction.

Legitimate business needs: such as preventing abuse of promotions, maintaining service integrity, or ensuring accurate record-keeping. Such retention periods are strictly limited to what is necessary and proportionate.

Complaints handling: where personal data may be required to investigate or resolve a complaint, we retain it for the period necessary to address the matter and to comply with related obligations.

Consent: personal data processed on the basis of your consent is retained only for as long as the consent remains valid and the data is required for the purposes for which it was collected.

Once the applicable retention period expires, or where personal data is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, we will securely delete the data or irreversibly anonymize it. Irreversibly anonymized data may be retained indefinitely and used for statistical, analytical, or service improvement purposes.

15. Your Privacy Rights:

You have certain legal rights in relation to the processing of your personal data, subject to the applicable limits. The rights that apply to you may vary depending on the legal basis on which we process your information:

  2. the right to obtain from us the rectification of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
  3. the right to obtain from us the erasure of personal data if it is possible;
  4. the right to obtain from us restriction of processing if it is possible;
  5. the right to data portability if it is possible;
  6. the right to object at any time to processing of your personal data if it is possible;
  7. the right not to be subject to an automated individual decision-making, including profiling, if it is possible;
  8. the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority if you believe your rights have been infringed or wish to seek compensation for damages suffered.

Bitget Wallet aim to respond to legitimate requests without undue delay and in any event within one (1) month of receipt of the request. Where necessary to verify the requester’s identity to prevent unauthorised disclosure of personal data this period begins once such verification is completed. This period may be extended by up to two (2) additional months, depending on the complexity and number of requests. In such cases, the user will be informed of the extension and the reasons for the delay.

If Bitget Wallet cannot verify the requester’s identity, it may be unable to act on the request.
